Nanophotonic device
Near-field optical energy transfer enables novel optical devices beyond the diffraction limit of light. Nano-scale signal transmitter and optical switches (AND-gate device) have successfully been demonstrated based on optical near-field interactions among the metallic nanoparticles, and semiconductor quantum dots and wells.
